Remedy Unveils Progress on Max Payne Remakes and Control 2

Remedy Entertainment has provided exciting updates on two of its most anticipated projects: the Max Payne remakes and Control 2.

In a recent financial report, Remedy announced that the remakes of the iconic Max Payne 1 and 2 games have made significant progress, moving into the production readiness stage. The studio expressed confidence in the project's future success, having gained clarity on the game's style and scope. Notably, Remedy is partnering with the renowned game developer Rockstar, the creative force behind Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Under this new publishing agreement, Rockstar is funding the project, while Remedy assumes the development role. These remakes will be powered by Remedy's proprietary Northlight game engine, the same engine that brought games like Control and Alan Wake 2 to life.

The eagerly awaited sequel to Control, known as Control 2, remains in the proof-of-concept stage. Remedy has ambitious plans for the sequel and has made substantial progress in both design and game build. The studio plans to continue refining key elements of the game before advancing to the next phase and scaling up the development team.

While Remedy has not provided specific release windows for these projects, they represent a significant focus for the studio and are sure to generate excitement among fans of both the Max Payne series and the original Control title.
