Your Lawn Mower Can Now Slay Demons: Husqvarna Adds Doom to Robotic Mowers

The internet's favorite meme, "It Runs Doom," has a new contender: robotic lawnmowers. In a surprising move, Husqvarna announced that the classic 1993 first-person shooter Doom will be playable on their NERA line of robotic lawnmowers for a limited time, starting in April.

Owners of these high-tech lawnmowers can sign up now to experience the thrill of battling demons while their yard gets mowed. The software update, available on April 9th, will include the first episode of Doom, titled "Knee-Deep in the Dead."

This isn't the first time Husqvarna's robotic mowers have embraced the spirit of Doom. Last year, at DreamHack Winter, they partnered with Bethesda to host a unique "lawn party" 1v1 deathmatch competition to celebrate the game's 30th anniversary.

However, there are some limitations to this mower-based Doom experience. Firstly, it's only available for a limited time, with the game being removed via a software update on September 9th. Additionally, the playable version is currently restricted to specific regions, including the UK, Australia, and Ireland.

Despite these limitations, this collaboration between Husqvarna and Doom serves as another entertaining example of the unexpected ways technology can be used. After all, who wouldn't want to mow their lawn while simultaneously slaying hordes of demons? Just remember, this particular "lawn party" won't last forever, so sign up if you're interested in a truly unique gaming experience.
