League of Legends to Introduce Vampire Survivors-style PvE Mode

League of Legends players, get ready for a new gaming experience! Riot Games has announced an upcoming PvE mode inspired by the popular indie game Vampire Survivors. This new "bullet heaven" mode will offer both solo and cooperative gameplay, providing a fresh twist on the classic League of Legends experience.

For those unfamiliar with the concept, bullet heaven games flip the script on traditional bullet hell games. Instead of dodging swarms of enemy projectiles, players become the source of these projectiles, using them to take down waves of enemies. Vampire Survivors popularised this gameplay style, leading to a surge of similar games, and now, League of Legends is jumping on the bandwagon.

Selina Liu, a developer at Riot Games, revealed in a recent update video that the team has been hard at work on this new mode. She described it as a departure from League's usual gameplay, offering a more relaxed experience compared to the intense Arena mode.

"In this mode, you'll be able to fight against hordes of enemies by yourself or with friends," added developer Eduardo Cortejoso. "Whether you're seeking a challenge or just want to have some fun with friends, we want this to be something everyone can enjoy."

The new mode promises to be "markedly different" from previous League of Legends PvE modes like Odyssey: Extraction or Star Guardian. A single screenshot of the mode in its early development stage has been released, showcasing gameplay reminiscent of Vampire Survivors.

While details about the new mode, including its name, are still scarce, players won't have to wait long for more information. Cortejoso announced that the mode will be launched during the 2024 mid-year event, with additional details to be revealed in upcoming developer updates.
