Elden Ring expansion "Shadow of the Erdtree" in development

FromSoftware, the developers of one if the biggest video games of 2022, Elden Ring, have announced via twitter, that a new Elden Ring expansion titled "Shadow of the Erdtree" is currently in development. No official release date has been announced yet, but the news was accompanied by new artwork for the expansion, that the loremasters will no doubt analyze.

This announcement comes shortly after Elden Ring celebrated its one-year anniversary, having sold over 20 million copies and receiving numerous accolades, including game of the year awards from DICE, New York Game Awards, The Game Awards, and IGN's best game of 2022.

The new expansion will be the first single-player content added to the game since the Colosseum multiplayer update. While it's unclear how much content the expansion will contain, it's expected to feature new areas, enemies, bosses, and weapons, as well as adding more depth to the game's intricate world-building and storytelling.
