Starfield becomes Bethesda's most successful release with over 10 million players

Bethesda's Starfield has soared to a remarkable milestone, drawing in over 10 million players since its early access launch on September 1. This achievement cements Starfield as Bethesda's most successful release, surpassing six million players within just six days of its debut.

Available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Game Pass, Starfield gained significant attention as one of Microsoft's high-profile first-party releases following Halo Infinite in December 2021. While specific sales figures remain undisclosed, Steam recorded a peak of 330,723 concurrent Starfield players recently. On Steam's all-time list, Starfield ranks 27th, surpassing Skyrim at 31st but falling short of Fallout 4's 16th place.

Drawing direct comparisons with previous Bethesda titles proves challenging due to Game Pass's influence. However, GamesIndustry reports that Starfield claimed the title of the best-selling game in Europe during its launch week. It also earned recognition as the year's fastest-selling new intellectual property (IP) and the fifth fastest-selling game overall.

In the European market, Starfield's launch sales outperformed titles like Final Fantasy 16 and Resident Evil 4 but trailed behind heavyweights like Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Notably, it stands as the biggest Xbox launch in Europe this generation, slightly ahead of Forza Horizon 5 by Playground.
