Rocksteady Studios Confirms Offline Story Mode for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Post-Launch in 2024
Rocksteady Studios has addressed concerns over the always-online nature of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League by confirming the addition of an offline story mode post-release. The revelation was made by a Rocksteady employee in the official Discord server for the game, with the developer aiming to implement the offline mode in 2024, although it won't be available at the game's initial launch.
The news comes as a relief to fans who were disappointed by the earlier announcement during a February State of Play event, where Rocksteady revealed that the game would require an online connection even in single-player mode and would function as a live-service game. This decision had initially deterred some players from engaging with the title.
The confirmation of the offline story mode follows the debut of a new trailer at the 2023 Game Awards and aligns with Rocksteady's recent developer diary series. In the first video of the series, the studio disclosed that its depiction of Metropolis in the game would be twice the size of Gotham City from Batman: Arkham Knight.
Originally slated for a 2022 release before being delayed to early 2023, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faced another delay, pushing its launch to February 2, 2024.
