Shadow Of The Erdtree: Elden Ring's Latest Expansion Now Available

The much-anticipated Elden Ring DLC, Shadow Of The Erdtree, has finally launched on PC. This expansion brings a fresh dose of open-world RPG excitement to the already massive and challenging Elden Ring universe. Available on Steam and the Xbox Store, this "first and last" Elden Ring DLC promises a gripping experience.

Shadow Of The Erdtree introduces a new region, The Land Of Shadow, filled with new weapons, enemies, bosses, and storylines focusing on Miquella, a key character in the Elden Ring narrative. Designed for experienced players, the recommended starting level is between 120-150. You must reach certain areas and defeat specific bosses to access the Land of Shadow, though completing the base game is not required. For NG+ players, we have a guide to help you reach the new content quickly.

Ed Thorn, also known as Starscourge Edders, reviewed the expansion and described it as a "pseudo-sequel." He praised its emphasis on exploration but noted its density could highlight flaws in the open-world format. "The Land Of Shadow may not be as expansive as the base game's Lands Between, but it's knottier, denser, and more of a twisting mass that burrows into the earth and soars into the skies," Ed wrote. He felt this design led to some of Elden Ring's finest moments but also to "recollection paralysis" due to its complexity.

With Shadow Of The Erdtree now available, fans are already speculating about FromSoftware's next project. Hidetaka Miyazaki, President and Dark Souls series creator, has hinted at fatherhood as an inspiration for future themes. As the Elden Ring journey continues, players eagerly await what new adventures FromSoftware will unveil next.
