Ubisoft has handcrafted each planet in Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft's upcoming open-world Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws, is generating significant anticipation among gamers worldwide. The game's creative director, Julian Gerighty, recently provided some exciting details about the highly-anticipated title. In an interview with Edge magazine, Gerighty revealed that each planet in Star Wars Outlaws has been meticulously handcrafted, dispelling rumors of procedural generation.

Fans were thrilled to learn that Starfield, another highly anticipated space-faring game, would feature 1,000 fully explorable planets. However, Gerighty clarified that Star Wars Outlaws aims for a more focused approach. While the game will feature a wide array of planets, each will offer a specific area for exploration. Gerighty compared the scale of the explorable space to "about two of the zones in Assassin's Creed Odyssey." This sizeable scope suggests the potential for countless hours of gameplay.

In contrast to Starfield's predominantly procedurally generated planets, Star Wars Outlaws demonstrates Ubisoft's commitment to handcrafting its expansive galactic setting. By avoiding excessive development costs and duration, the studio aims to create a universe that remains manageable yet teeming with exploration opportunities.

With the game set to release in 2024, fans can look forward to immersing themselves in the vast Star Wars universe, navigating handcrafted planets, and embarking on thrilling adventures. Star Wars Outlaws seems poised to deliver the ambitious open-world experience that modern gamers crave, promising excitement and discovery on an interstellar scale.
