GTA 6 Release Date Narrowed to Fall 2025 Amid Questions about Delays

Take-Two Interactive's CEO "highly confident" it'll be out next year.

Take-Two Interactive is doubling down on Grand Theft Auto VI's release date, asserting that the long-awaited sequel will debut in fall 2025, despite persistent rumours of a potential delay into 2026. The updated release window was confirmed in Take-Two's latest earnings report, with the company's outlook firmly based on this new timeline.

"We do feel highly confident that we'll deliver [Grand Theft Auto VI] in fall of 2025," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick assured in an interview with IGN when questioned about the possibility of a delay.

Rockstar Games officially unveiled Grand Theft Auto 6 last December, and its first official trailer quickly became the most-viewed video game reveal on YouTube within 24 hours. Set in modern-day Leonida, a fictionalised version of Florida, players will take on the roles of Lucia and an unnamed male character, whom fans speculate might be named Jason.

Since the initial reveal, speculation has swirled around GTA 6's release date, with fans eagerly dissecting every detail, including website updates. Internal conflicts at Rockstar over the company's return-to-office policy have fueled concerns about a potential delay to 2026. However, as it stands, both Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar seem committed to meeting the fall 2025 release target.

For now, we know that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC version will not be available at launch, although hopefully, PC players won't have to wait too long to experience the game.
