Atari Unveils the Atari 7800+: A Modern Revival of a Classic Console
Atari, in collaboration with PLAION, has announced the Atari 7800+, a modern successor to the Atari 2600+ and the newest addition to the Atari+ platform. This sleek, scaled-down version of the original 1986 console is designed to blend retro charm with contemporary technology, featuring HDMI connectivity for easy integration with modern TVs and devices.
Each Atari 7800+ comes with the CX78+ Wireless Gamepad, a revamped version of the original two-button controller, and includes a brand-new game, Bentley Bear’s Crystal Quest, a sequel to the classic Crystal Castles.
Wade Rosen, Chairman and CEO of Atari, stated, “Expanding the Atari+ platform with new games, new wireless controllers, and the 7800+ console is a perfect follow-up to last year’s successful launch of the Atari 2600+.”
