Diablo 4 sets new sales record as Blizzard's fastest-selling game ever

Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo 4, has broken records as the company's fastest-selling title to date, according to an official announcement made on June 6. Just four days after its global launch, Diablo 4 achieved the "highest pre-launch unit sales ever on both console and PC," solidifying its position as a remarkable success.

Although Blizzard did not disclose the exact number of copies sold on all platforms, they proudly revealed that players have collectively logged an astonishing 93 million hours of gameplay. This impressive statistic further demonstrates the game's popularity and strong engagement among the gaming community.

It's important to note that comparing Diablo 4's success to previous Blizzard game launches can be challenging due to the game's premium price tag. Unlike titles such as Overwatch 2, Diablo 4 carries a higher cost, making direct comparisons difficult. The last Blizzard game to undergo a similar premium launch was the original Overwatch back in 2016.

Nonetheless, Diablo 4's triumphant reception cannot be overshadowed. Since its early access release last week, the game has received rave reviews from global media outlets, undoubtedly contributing to its soaring sales. The positive word-of-mouth generated by players who gained early access has also played a significant role in bolstering Diablo 4's success.
