Prepare for Adventure: One Piece Odyssey Coming to Nintendo Switch

Bandai Namco has set sail for the Nintendo Switch with "One Piece Odyssey: Deluxe Edition," a comprehensive package that includes the base game and additional content. Originally launched in January 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, this RPG adventure will make its Nintendo Switch debut on July 26, 2024.

Developed by ILCA and published by Bandai Namco, "One Piece Odyssey" invites players to join Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates on a journey to explore the mysterious Waford Island, a fallen sky island where they find themselves stranded. The game features turn-based combat and a storyline that cleverly blends new narrative elements with iconic moments from the beloved One Piece franchise.

The Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch includes the base game, all previously released DLC, and exclusive new content. Players can look forward to the "Reunion of Memories" DLC, an epilogue accessible after completing the main storyline, as well as new City of Water outfits for the characters.

With a playtime of approximately 30 hours for the base game and an additional 10 hours for the DLC, "One Piece Odyssey" offers both newcomers and long-time fans a substantial and engaging experience. The game's innovative storyline, which sees the Straw Hat Pirates losing their powers and needing to relive their greatest moments to regain them, strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and fresh storytelling.

As the release date approaches, fans of the One Piece series and RPG enthusiasts alike can mark their calendars for July 26, 2024, when "One Piece Odyssey: Deluxe Edition" sets sail on the Nintendo Switch, promising an unforgettable adventure on the high seas of gaming.

While gamers who purchase the Switch version of One Piece Odyssey will be playing the ultimate version of the game content-wise, it’s also important to remember that Switch ports often come with hardware limitations. The Switch is an older, less powerful platform than current-gen consoles, so gamers should expect performance on par with the PS4’s release of the game. Fortunately, gamers have seen many excellent Switch ports in recent years, so the game will likely be well-optimised.
