Treyarch’s First Patch for Black Ops 6 Fixes Maps, Boosts XP, and More
Only days after Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 hit the market, developer Treyarch is already addressing player feedback with a fresh update. While Black Ops 6 has largely received positive feedback, thanks to its innovative omni-movement mechanics, certain gameplay issues still linger. This new patch aims to resolve a handful of these problems, tackling map exploits, stabilising the gameplay experience, and making adjustments to XP rates in several key modes.
Patch Highlights: XP Gains and Map Fixes
The October 26 patch addresses XP imbalances in game modes like Team Deathmatch, Control, Search and Destroy, and Gunfight, where players were previously earning less experience than intended. With this update, players should now see an increase in XP across these modes, allowing faster progression.
The patch also targets issues across several maps. Babylon, Lowtown, and Red Card have been updated to close unintended “out-of-bounds” exploits, preventing players from reaching areas outside the intended play zones. Additionally, Red Card received improvements for overall stability, which should enhance the experience for players.
Settings and UI/UX Improvements
For streamers, the “Mute Licensed Music” setting has finally been fixed, ensuring content creators can stream without risking copyright issues. Furthermore, general stability improvements were made to the game’s menus, helping players navigate loadouts and view progression levels without interface issues.
Zombies Mode and Other Fixes
Zombie fans will find updates in the Terminus and Liberty Falls maps, resolving issues like zombie spawn halts and side quest bugs. In addition, the “Wonderbar!” GobbleGum now properly grants players a Wonder Weapon, adding to the effectiveness of strategic play in Zombies mode.
Missing Fixes and Future Updates
One widely reported bug, the flashbang transparency issue remains unaddressed in this patch. Treyarch has acknowledged player frustrations and is likely working on solutions, though it’s unclear when they’ll be implemented. The update also improves server stability across various modes and training courses, helping refine the multiplayer experience.
Looking Ahead: Season 1 and Nuketown’s Return
With Season 1 rumoured to launch mid-November, Treyarch has a few weeks to polish Black Ops 6 even further. Meanwhile, fans can look forward to the return of the classic Nuketown map on November 1, bringing a touch of nostalgia to the Black Ops 6 landscape.
