Ubisoft secures cloud streaming rights for Activision Blizzard games in post-acquisition deal

Ubisoft has unveiled a strategic deal granting exclusive cloud streaming rights for Activision Blizzard titles, including Call of Duty, following Microsoft's acquisition. This arrangement, effective over the next 15 years and beyond, aims to expand access to these games globally.

Ubisoft's move is set to strengthen its content offering via Ubisoft+, leveraging their expertise in online services and distribution. The deal will enable Ubisoft to license streaming access of Activision Blizzard games to various cloud gaming companies and service providers, ultimately benefitting players across platforms.

Chris Early, Ubisoft's Senior VP of Strategic Partnerships, highlighted the company's dedication to enhancing player experiences and providing broader gaming options.

The agreement grants Ubisoft worldwide streaming rights, excluding the European Economic Area, for both existing and upcoming Activision Blizzard titles. This landmark deal is subject to Microsoft's finalization of the Activision Blizzard acquisition.
