Rocky start for Diablo 4 beta with server issues

Players eagerly anticipating early access to Diablo 4 beta servers faced frustration and long queue times upon attempting to login on release day (18th March). Many who preordered the game or obtained beta codes through the KFC promotion found themselves unable to play due to error codes and server connection issues.

Blizzard's official Diablo Twitter account acknowledged the issues, stating that the team is managing the rate of player entry into the game until a full fix for the connection issues is found. Blizzard had previously warned players to expect wait times and not to leave the queue, even if the countdown timer goes beyond the duration listed on the queue timer.

Despite the frustration, long wait times and server issues are not uncommon during beta testing, which is partially intended to stress test games before launch, particularly for hotly anticipated titles like Diablo 4.

Players can monitor known issues and fixes on Blizzard's website, while forums have been full of user complaints about being repeatedly booted after waiting in queues. While wait times are never ideal, players will be hoping for a resolution soon so they can jump into the ARPG action and begin slaying demons.
