Miyazaki Hints at Continued Saga After new Elden Ring DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree

Elden Ring fans rejoice! While the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC might sound like a finale, developer FromSoftware isn't shutting the door on more. In an interview with IGN, director Hidetaka Miyazaki left the door open for both additional DLC and even a potential Elden Ring 2.

"We don't want to say this is the end of the Elden Ring saga for now," Miyazaki said, echoing similar sentiments about Dark Souls 3. "There might be more ideas in the future."

While no concrete plans exist for further DLC or a sequel, Miyazaki's openness hints at the possibility. This aligns with Elden Ring's phenomenal success, exceeding 20 million copies sold in its first year and becoming FromSoftware's most popular title ever.

Further fueling speculation is a reported Genshin Impact-inspired Elden Ring mobile game in development, albeit with slow progress.

So, Tarnished, while Shadow of the Erdtree awaits in June, keep your sword sharp and your Elden Ring hopes alive. The Erdtree's mysteries may not be fully unraveled yet.
