Sony Pictures Television announces release of Twisted Metal TV Series based on popular video game franchise

Sony Pictures Television has announced the release of their new TV series "Twisted Metal," based on the popular video game franchise of the same name. The series, which is set to premiere on the Peacock streaming service, will follow a diverse group of contestants as they compete in a deadly car combat tournament for the chance to have their deepest desires granted by the mysterious and enigmatic Calypso.

The show is being produced by executive producers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, known for their work on the hit movie franchise "Deadpool." The series will feature an all-star cast, including Will Arnett, who will be voicing the iconic character Sweet Tooth, as well as Anthony Mackie playing John Doe.

The video game series "Twisted Metal" first debuted in 1995 and quickly became a fan favorite due to its unique blend of vehicular combat and over-the-top characters. The series has since spawned numerous sequels and spin-offs, making it one of the most enduring franchises in gaming history.
