New Netflix Horizon Zero Dawn TV Show Announced with Umbrella Academy’s Steve Blackman

We recently learned that The Umbrella Academy’s next season will be it’s last, but on the brighter side of things showrunner Steve Blackman will be moving on to a new series developed by Netflix based on the PlayStation game Horizon Zero Dawn. As well as a sci-fi show called Orbital.

“Horizon Zero Dawn and Orbital are elevated, event-level projects grounded in characters that fans will love and relate to, which are hallmarks of Irish Cowboy productions,” Blackman said in a statement to Deadline. “We’re thrilled to be working with Netflix and all of our partners on developing these ground-breaking stories.”

Netflix’s Tudum Blog had Blackman on for an interview where he shared a few more thoughts about the Horizon Zero Dawn and Orbital shows, he didn’t go into too much detail about the projects but he praised Horizon Zero Dawn and confirmed that Aloy will be the main character!

Apart from that, we don’t know much, about who will play Aloy or when the release date will be. I however am still very excited to see the epic story of Aloy fighting giant mechanical dinosaurs across a vast post-apocalyptic world will look adapted for tv!
