Hogwarts Legacy Headmaster Voiced by Simon Pegg

British actor Simon Pegg, mainly known for his roles alongside creative companion Nick Frost in films such as Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, and Paul, has entered the Harry Potter universe by voicing Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in the upcoming wizarding action role-playing game, Hogwarts Legacy.

In an interview with IGN, Pegg describes Phineas, who is the great great grandfather of Sirius Black, as “the least popular Headmaster in the history of Hogwarts”. “Phineas is pompous, disinterested and not a good teacher or Headmaster in any way”. Pegg goes on to say that Phineas has only taken the job as Headmaster for the prestige and kudos and is not interested in the education of children.

Phineas was actually seen in the books and films as a portrait hung on the wall of Dumbledore’s office and he was the last Slytherin Headmaster before Professor Snape got the job in the first part of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Pegg also mentions how extremely excited he is to be part of the Harry Potter universe.

“I’ve watched all those movies, and always expected a role. Virtually every British actor has been in the wizarding world films, apart from me, and so to get the role, particularly one of the Black family, is a cool thing because Sirius was my favorite character from the books so it feels really good”.

In addition to Pegg, other voice actors have been announced including Sebastian Croft and Amelia Gething who will provide the two voice options that players can choose for their avatar. Lesley Nicol will play Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts Matilda Weasley. Kandace Caine plays Divination Professor Onai. Sohm Kapila voices Satyavati Shah, the astronomy professor.

Luke Youngblood, who portrayed Lee Jordan in the films, is playing a Ravenclaw student named Everett Clopton. Asif Ali and Adam O’Connor are also voicing Ravenclaw students Amit Thakkar and Mahendra Pehlwaan, respectively. And finally, Jason Anthony is going to be both Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat. Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 10, on April 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on Nintendo Switch on July 25.
