Warner Bros. Games Announces Seasonal Fatalities Bundle for Mortal Kombat 1 at Surprisingly Low Price
In response to the ongoing debate surrounding the monetized Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1, Warner Bros. Games has unveiled details about its Seasonal Fatality Bundle, set to feature exclusive Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Fatalities. The company confirmed to IGN that the bundle would be priced at 1,200 Dragon Krystals, equating to approximately $9.99, and is scheduled for release on November 17.
This revelation comes as a pleasant surprise for Mortal Kombat 1 enthusiasts, as earlier speculations hinted at a potential $30 price tag for the seasonal bundle. The Halloween Fatality, priced at 1,200 Dragon Krystals as a standalone release, contributed to this estimate. Responding to criticism over monetization, Warner Bros. Games has generously offered players who purchased the $10 Halloween Fatality free access to the entire seasonal bundle.
While the bundle's cost is lower than anticipated, it still exceeds the price of the popular DLC character Omni-Man, priced at $7.99, who comes bundled with two unique Fatalities. The introduction of premium Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1 has been a divisive move among fans, adding to existing criticism regarding the game's poorly-reviewed Switch port, bugs, and other issues.
Despite these challenges, Mortal Kombat 1 has achieved substantial sales, surpassing 3 million units since its September launch. However, sales in Europe appear to lag behind Mortal Kombat 11. In our review, we acknowledged Mortal Kombat 1 as a commendable addition to the series, though not without its issues, particularly in certain elements of online play and the engagement level of the Invasions mode.
