"Stray" adventure game to receive animated adaptation by Annapurna Animation
BlueTwelve Studio's beloved 2022 adventure game, "Stray," is set to undergo a transformation into an animated feature, courtesy of Annapurna's newly launched animation division. This endeavor is spearheaded by former Disney Animation executives Robert Baird and Andrew Millstein.
"Stray," a third-person cat adventure game, garnered widespread acclaim for its immersive portrayal of a neon-soaked cybercity and its shadowy, gritty underbelly. "Stray" received impressive ratings, praising its charming escapades within a darkly hopeful cyberpunk world where players take on the role of an adorable cat.
Annapurna Animation has already made waves with its debut project, "Nimona," premiering at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 14 and subsequently launching worldwide on Netflix on June 30. The studio is also actively involved in the development of director Chris Wedge's upcoming project, "Foo."
Annapurna Animation has ambitious plans to adapt more titles from its video game library, which includes acclaimed titles such as "Donut County," "Kentucky Route Zero," "Outer Wilds," "Sayonara Wild Hearts," "Wattam," "What Remains of Edith Finch," "Telling Lies," and "Neon White."
