Is Red Dead Redemption Finally Coming to PC? PlayStation Store Thinks So

In what could be a sign of long-awaited news for PC gamers, the PlayStation Store has caused a stir by bizarrely claiming that Red Dead Redemption is "now on PC." While the statement is not accurate Red Dead Redemption remains a console-exclusive title since its original release in 2010—the update to its PlayStation description has sparked speculation that a PC port may be closer than ever.

The odd update to the PlayStation Store’s description comes shortly after a May 2024 datamine of Rockstar Games’ website hinted at the possibility of a PC release. The PlayStation Store’s page now reads, “Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation—now on PC for the first time ever,” a message that caught the attention of eagle-eyed fans, including Twitter user @Wario64.

Further fueling the speculation, the description continues with additional PC-specific details: “Also included is Undead Nightmare, the iconic horror story that transforms the world of Red Dead Redemption into an apocalyptic fight for survival against a zombie horde.” It goes on to mention the inclusion of bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition, alongside “PC-specific enhancements including support for increased resolutions and framerates, multiple displays, and other accessories, plus spatial surround sound.”

However, the description does clarify that this version of the game will not include multiplayer content. Despite this omission, many PC players are likely to be thrilled at the prospect of finally experiencing Red Dead Redemption on their platform of choice, especially as the game approaches its 15th anniversary.

Rockstar Games has a history of delaying or neglecting PC releases for their major titles. Grand Theft Auto V was released on PC a year after its console debut, and no PC version has been announced for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, which is expected to be one of the biggest video game launches of all time.

For now, it remains to be seen whether this PlayStation Store update was an accidental leak or a sign of an imminent announcement. Either way, the prospect of Red Dead Redemption finally making its way to PC is an exciting development for the gaming community.
